Spider Web Dip

Spider web dip is similar to any layered dip from the 1990s, only without beans or seventy-two layers. This quick and easy dip has even made guacamole haters hate it slightly less because of the other ingredients.

I grew up having this dip at every Halloween party when I was little and sometimes on Halloween itself. It came from an old picture cookbook from the early 2000s. Pretty sure my mom bought it new.

This dip is best made in a pie pan, strictly because of the circular shape. I personally think that it presents better than anything else. Bonus points if you have a shallow, round Halloween-themed dish.

How to Make Spider Web Dip

Ingredients

1 package (8oz.) Cream cheese, softened

1 jar (8oz.) Prepared salsa

½ cup prepared guacamole

2 tablespoons sour cream

Directions

  1. Prepare Spooky tortilla chips, if you’re using them; set aside.

  2. Blend cream cheese and salsa in a blender or food processor.

  3. Spread cream cheese mixture in a round serving or pie plate; smooth guacamole over top, leaving a ½-inch border.

  4. Place sour cream in a plastic food storage bag; seal the bag and cut off the corner of bag. Pipe sour cream in circles over the guacamole. Run a skewer through sour cream to make a “spider web.”

  5. Serve chilled with Spooky tortilla chips or store-bought tortilla chips.
